Entrepreneurship Education Pdf

This book illustrates how global economic progress has reached its upper limit under the current economic paradigm, and how the next major revolution in global progress will rely on our ability to tap into the collective knowledge of the “everyday genius” to drive innovation, free market competition, artistic influence, and other advances that will allow humanity to overcome its greatest challenges. This volume proposes a grant-based program that will allow innovators to pursue their passions and benefit society as a whole. Such a program will reflect the end of the industrial age, when technology is satisfying many basic needs and creating space for individuals to pursue meaningful, fulfilling careers with the potential to improve our quality of life. Our current economic state mirrors the beginnings of the Agricultural Revolution and Industrial Revolution, and Aspirational Revolution shows how the immediate future will redefine what it means to be human by revolutionizing the manner in which we acquire and utilize the resources necessary for our continued survival. This book is the catalyst by which this transition will occur, providing the models upon which new paradigms will be built – a brand new conception of fundamental economic theory.

Entrepreneurship education can increase student's entrepreneurial skills and intention; and entrepreneurship activities stimulate economic growth. Therefore, the number of entrepreneurship courses is increasing, but they are often offered to students from a specific field of study and/or to only one educational level, even though multidisciplinarity is important for entrepreneurship. This study has carried out an exploratory single case study on an entrepreneurial programme in a multidisciplinary environment, that is, the Contamination Lab of Turin (CLabTo). Moreover, pre-and post-surveys have also been conducted in order to perform some qualitative analyses. The results show the importance of creating teams with different competencies, cognitive and decision-making skills. Moreover, we explain how design-thinking is useful in entrepreneurship education and that a challenge-based entrepreneurship course leads to cooperation with external actors in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. It is also explained what the obstacles and opportunities of these programmes are and how to improve them. Moreover, on the basis of pre-and post-surveys, our qualitative analyses show that the students' overall perception of their abilities to work in a multidisciplinary team, their entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial intentions increased slightly. In short, this work is aimed at increasing the importance of entrepreneurship education in a multidisciplinary environment and the use of practical-oriented teaching models.

Entrepreneurship is considered to be one of the most critical factors contributing to the successful performance of business, innovations, and growth of the economy. Entrepreneurship is the main driver of innovation and sustainable business. The purpose of this research is to assess the main traits that are deemed essential for the successful performance of a firm. A model is developed to assess how entrepreneurs' creativity, self-efficacy, and achievement motivation influence the performance of small firms through the role of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) as a mediating variable. The hypotheses are tested by using Smart PLS (partial least squares path modeling) on a sample of 353 business owners to seek the insight of entrepreneurial traits on small-firm performance. The findings of the research show that self-efficacy and EO have a significant and positive association with the performance of a firm, while creativity and internal locus of control are fully mediated by EO. The subjective measures are used to examine the performance of a firm in terms of growth, sustainability, and financial performance, but the same can also be assessed by objective measures. The practical implication of this research provides entrepreneurs with a different perspective of the entrepreneurial traits that contribute to successful firm performance. The originality of the research lies in the attempt to explore the entrepreneurial traits that significantly influence the effectiveness of the performance of firms in the Pakistani context.

Social entrepreneurship is an emerging entrepreneurial concept accompanied by an increase in the social driven enterprises, in addition to the lack of commercial enterprises, which meet the social needs for individuals and community. Social enterprise legal formats can be 'for-profit' enterprises or 'not-for-profit' enterprises, where the essential part of social enterprise is having social value proposition that provides a social value and meet the social aims of an entrepreneur. Additionally, business modeling is an emerging entrepreneurial concept that has received limited attention from scholars. Consequently, there is no clear agreement between scholars on a unified definition, structure, features, characteristics and evolution of the business model. Some scholars argue that many startups fail, even if they have unique idea, have passion, have sufficient resources and have attractive market opportunity; their failure may come from a poor and immature business model behind the startup. Hence the importance of a business model for the success of startups and entrepreneurs, whether a traditional startup or a sustainable-social startup. Accordingly, this paper focuses in social enterprises and help social entrepreneurs in taking the decision related to choosing a suitable business model that translates all their social and financial values and aims. This is accomplished through discussing business models types, definitions and analyzing their pros and cons, especially the traditional and sustainable business models. The main output of the paper proposes a hybrid social business model (HSBM) that combines traditional and sustainable-social models. This business model can be used as a tool by social enterprises, creating a balance for the social impact and financial values of their social enterprise. Also, it helps in translating their social and financial aims in a structured and tailored way that suits the nature of their enterprises.

This paper examines the institutional context of the entrepreneurial discovery of blockchain applications. It draws on institutional and entrepreneurial theory to introduce the economic problem entrepreneurship in the early stages of new technologies, examines the diversity of self-governed hybrid solutions to coordinating entrepreneurial information, and draws policy implications. To perceive a valuable and actionable market opportunity, entrepreneurs must coordinate distributed non-price information under uncertainty with others. One potential class of transaction cost economising solution to this problem is private self-governance of information coordination within hybrids. This paper explores a diverse range of entrepreneurial hybrids coalescing around blockchain technology, with implications for innovation policy. Defining the innovation problem as either choice-theoretic or contract-theoretic changes the remit of innovation policy. Innovation policy and blockchain policy should extend beyond correcting sub-optimal investments or removing barriers to action, to incorporate how polices impact entrepreneurial choices over governance structures to coordinate information.

This paper deals with the topic of entrepreneurship, especially in terms of approach and decision-making of young people studying business and management at university if to become an entrepreneur. An interest to start own business might be influenced by many factors. Some factors are general and related to the overall situation in the economy, to business conditions and preconditions for success in business. On the other hand, if we look at younger generation, students, some factors might be very specifically related to this age group. We as university teachers are mostly interested in questions of education and training of young people in business and entrepreneurship. If the main purpose of our research was to determine the current students interested in business and especially their orientation in how to do business, so we channeled our research on a group of students from faculties dealing with the development of the two fields of study. Our paper shows the results of our study. In the research we used questionnaires on 126 respondents. These respondents were students of universities in bachelor and master studies in Slovak Republic. Based on the evaluation and results of our research, we summarize the main findings and preferences of students in terms of starting a business.

The present study deals with the review of literature on the area of empowerment of women through their participation in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). For this purpose, the literature has been divided into two main domains. In the first domain, literature on women participation in MSMEs and related issues has been reviewed. In the second domain, literature on empowerment of women participants and related issues has been reviewed. In the Introduction section of the study, the relevance of conducting such a study has been tried to be justified. While reviewing the literature in the second section of the study, the findings have been summarised and relationships between findings of different studies have been shown. The papers have not necessarily been reviewed chronologically. Rather, they have been arranged as per the ideas discussed in the study. Based on the findings of different studies, conclusions have been drawn for the two main domains of the study, respectively.

In the backdrop of role of business in poverty alleviation, stimulating entrepreneurship by involving the entrepreneurs in forming their ventures has been considered fruitful. In doing so, the crucial factor remains the underlying heterogeneity of entrepreneurs due to their arrays of business requirements to cater to miscellaneous market segments and niches. In this context, the first section delves into the phenomenon of supporting the diversified start-up entrepreneurs (SEs) with their intensely different start-up needs, wants and desires, and focuses on how diversity of entrepreneurship demands diversified services as well. This leads to the broader scenario of why and how the entrepreneurship support centres (ESCs) develop and change keeping pace with the growing or changing requirements and environments of the start-up entrepreneurs (SEs). Subsequently, section one reveals the underlying research question of the study focusing on the ESCs dealing and configuring with the heterogeneous start-up entrepreneurs (SEs). The study aimed at developing a typology on the entrepreneurship support centres (ESCs) facilitating services for heterogeneous start-up entrepreneurs (SEs) focusing on the services of ESCS, particularly from the perspective of their configurations. In this context, the general research question explored different configurations of the entrepreneurship support centres (ESCs) facilitating services for heterogeneous start-up entrepreneurs (SEs). Adopting a systematic literature review, section two critically reviews a number of relevant papers extracted from the scientific and scholarly databases with regard to entrepreneurship support. Pinpointing theoretical perspectives from several contemporary angles, it reports the state-of-the-art knowledge in supporting the multifaceted entrepreneurship and dynamic start-up entrepreneurs. Spanning from the most obvious to the most cutting-edge ones, this section highlights works on the following theoretical perspectives: knowledge-based and resource-based views, social capital theory, social learning theory, theory of planned behaviour, theory of growth of the firm, Uppsala model of international entrepreneurship, theory of cultural dimensions, and market orientation. The research has been conducted in the context of Bangladesh due to relevant ground of the study; furthermore, it is angled from the perspective of BiD Network Foundation which contributes to sustainable economic growth in emerging countries through entrepreneurship. Based on this notion, section three elaborates the research context where Bangladesh is an interesting zone for BiD Network and helping the ESCs and SEs of Bangladesh has turned out to be a challenge for it. Thereby, in terms of the methodological aspects of the research, followed by an extensive web search and other contacts, a number of potential ESCs, SEs and entrepreneurship consultants in Bangladesh were selected accordingly. As the nature of the study is qualitative and the underlying approach is theory building, thereby case-by-case in-depth interviews were spotted as the most suitable data collection means. For the analysis, the raw data have been analysed checking the interviews and were organised into a tabular study in a comparative format. Consequently in section four, the results have been arranged into parts reflecting upon the research questions of this study, and critically analysing the results attempting to answer the research questions chronologically, and thereby leading to the developed theoretical model. Based on the local expert advice of the entrepreneurship support centres (ESCs) and in consultation with the entrepreneurship consultants (ECs), three groups among the start-up entrepreneurs (SEs) in Bangladesh were distinguished: G1 type of young SEs, G2 type of child SEs, and G3 type of aged SEs. It can be said that although their needs and requirements revolve around few similar areas, i.e. funding, networking, training etc., nevertheless *

Male entrepreneurs are known to raise higher levels of funding than their female counterparts, but the underlying mechanism for this funding disparity remains contested. Drawing upon regulatory focus theory, we propose that the gap originates with a gender bias in the questions that investors pose to entrepreneurs. A field study conducted on question-and-answer interactions at TechCrunch Disrupt New York City during 2010 through 2016 reveals that investors tend to ask male entrepreneurs promotion-focused questions and female entrepreneurs prevention-focused questions, and that entrepreneurs tend to respond with matching regulatory focus. This distinction in the regulatory focus of investor questions and entrepreneur responses results in divergent funding outcomes for entrepreneurs whereby those asked promotion-focused questions raise significantly higher amounts of funding than those asked prevention-focused questions. We demonstrate that every additional prevention-focused question significantly hinders the entrepreneur's ability to raise capital, fully mediating gender's effect on funding. By experimentally testing an intervention, we find that entrepreneurs can significantly increase funding for their startups when responding to prevention-focused questions with promotion-focused answers. As we offer evidence regarding tactics that can be employed to diminish the gender disadvantage in funding outcomes, this study has practical as well as theoretical implications for entrepreneurship.

Research Papers On Entrepreneurship

This paper examines and also gives credence to the potency of intrapreneurship as a launch-pad for organizational re-engineering that is considered as the vitally needed catalyst for economic growth and development. Intrapreneurship refers to employee initiatives in organizations to undertake something new, without being asked to do so. It is a process by which individuals-either on their own or inside organizations-pursue opportunities without regard to the resources they currently control. Major activities related to intrapreneurship include opportunity perception, idea generation, designing a new product or another recombination of resources, internal coalition building, persuading the management, resource acquisition, planning and organizing. Key behavioural aspects of intrapreneurship are personal initiative, active information search, out of the box thinking, voicing, championing, taking charge, finding a way, and some degree of risk taking. It discusses the similarities and differences between intrapreneurship and independent entrepreneurship. Organisations employing intrapreneurial strategies have a competitive edge, which also boosts economic development. Clear reward systems and strategies must be in place to ensure that the intrapreneur is adequately compensated for their innovation.

Managers face a critical issue in deciding when to employ a predictive planning approach versus a more adaptive and flexible strategic approach. We suggest that determining which approach is ideal for a given context hangs on the extent to which uncertainty is, or might be, mitigable within that context. To date, however, the mitigability of uncertainty has not been adequately distilled. Here we take on this issue, distinguishing mitigable ignorance of pertinent but knowable information (i.e. epistemic uncertainty) from immitigable indeterminacy (i.e. aleatory uncertainty). We review the current state of the debate on the existence of free will because the acceptance or rejection of conscious agents as a true first cause has fundamental implications. A critical examination of the arguments for and against the free will hypothesis land us on the side of voluntarism, which implies immitigable indeterminacy (but not complete unpredictability) wherever conscious actors are involved. Accepting the existence of immitigable or aleatory uncertainty, then, we revisit the determination of strategic logics and produce important theoretical nuance and key boundary conditions in the normative choice between predictive and non-predictive strategies.
